Book Four
Jill goes back to Chatton to live in her original home, Pool Cottage. Her best friend Ann Derry is emotionally wrecked from a love affair gone wrong and goes to stay with her. Their life of horsey adventures, and sometimes misadventures continue. Jill acquires a steeplechaser and enters a point-to-point to try race riding. In order to qualify to enter the race Jill has to foxhunt and after her first enthusiasm she is forced to grapple with a moral dilemma when faced with anti-blood sport protests. Book Five
Jill Crewe returns to England after a month of dressage training in Germany and is beset with a burning ambition to buy her own dressage horse and compete at the highest levels. During her childhood she dreamed of jumping in the open jumping at Chatton Show, now she wants to represent England in the dressage competitions at the Olympics. She is scheduled to work as an assistant to the Master of the Horse while the film Macbeth is being shot at her home Blainstock
Castle, in the Scottish Highlands. By chance, she finds a dressage horse right under her nose and can think of nothing but how to raise the huge amount of money that she needs to buy it.

Book Six
Jill Crewe has just acquired a fantastic dressage horse, and she is determined that she will compete at the highest levels. It is the early 1960s, and her ambition is to Ride for England. She also wants to become an equestrian journalist and is offered the chance to write dressage articles for Horse and Hound. Until now, Jill has avoided the irksome issue of romance, but at this stage of her life she finds herself in the grip of an infatuation for a dashing and accomplished horseman. Training her dressage horse, pursuing a career as a journalist, and attracting a handsome man lead her into a series of madcap adventures and misadventures.

Book Seven
Jill Crewe returns to Blainstock Stables after completing the Horsemasters Course at Porlock Vale. She takes her German friend, Dieter with her to spend Christmas at the castle. Stopping off in London to show Dieter the sights, she visits her literary agent to receive some unsettling news. Expecting a happy festive Christmas, she has to come to terms with drastic changes, which are affecting the lives of everyone at the castle. There is to be a new social order, and huge challenges to face.
